Incredibly satisfied, all glass heating region,. No plastic touches the drinking water as it boils. If you are worried (i am not extremely anxious) and really don't want the water touching plastic at all then merely open up the lid ahead of you pour, or take away the small plastic display in the lid. I had an ovente which lasted a number of yrs, but there was a plastic rim at the leading that prolonged into the glass location. This cracked over time, and caused the kettle to leak all above the location and cracked plastic would wind up in the h2o.
This kettle does not have that style flaw. Boils very fast. Very good high-quality glass (exact as the ovente). Vehicle-off functions. I have experienced this for four months, and use it quite a few instances a day.

Only half well made. I really liked this kettle with the clear glass and auto shut off. Having gone through several that didn't last due to leaking i was confident that i had an electric kettle that would last more than a year. Not so, while the glass carafe is fine and it heats very quickly, the plastic housing is breaking down. This was purchased from a store in mid march, 2014 and plastic pieces began to come off by december 2014.
Every day now more pieces are falling off from both inside and outside this kettle. I am hoping to be able to take it back to the store with their one year warranty because salton puts the shipping and handling on the customer and wants you to ship it via an insured carrier and add $12. 50 so they can ship it back to you. This makes the shipping costs about $10 less than it cost new. There are no service depots affiliated with salton according to their web page.
