Performs wonderful at boiling water (it is work) swiftly - way faster. Works excellent at boiling water (it can be job) swiftly - way more rapidly than a cooktop kettle. Only criticism is the on-lever right away shuts off the 1st couple of tries you have to just keep flicking it right until it sticks. As soon as it is on, however, it stays on so its not a large concern.
